Final Design

These are the stairs used in the final design of the below ground studio (Piccinini). They are of custom metal riser and going contruction held in place by a two purpose hanging system also acting as a handrail.

The image shows the southern facade and from within the modified balcony no longer being open but rather enclosed by glazed panels. It also shows the timber bars that are used to section off the stairs and act as a balustrade. The use of my own custom materials are also shown in this image on the shelving on the above studio. The material "Natural" is used.

An overall of the design showing the above ground, the datum and the below ground. The step downs in the roof of the below ground can be seen and was done to emphasis the heirachy of the family structure and on track witht the initial design continues with the "up and down" motion of the roof to represent the ups and down of family life. The image also show 2 more custom textures being used. The texture "Dense" is used on the support columns and balustrade in the gallery space. The texture "Electric" is used in the feature wall on the northern wall. This texture was used in conjunction with the design theme of human organ system. Electric pulses streaming throughout the body.

An interior image of the Below ground roof with the vision/light panels. As central stairs that link all the rooms within the studio. Again with relevance to the family structure.
